Coaching & Games: 10th August 2015

To keep in touch with everything on a week-to-week basis you can keep an eye on the Coaching & Games section where fixtures and notes will be updated weekly. 20/20 Communication As per contact from Damien all correspondence with clubs will now be conducted via email and through the club secretaries’ address ONLY. There are two addresses per club, one for the adult club (secretary.clubname.longford@gaa.ie) and one for the underage section (secretarybng.clubname.longford@gaa.ie). It is all clubs responsibility to ensure someone is monitoring these accounts and passing the information to the relevant people. Underage Match Monitors In the last week Longford GAA have sent a monitor to observe a number of matches from U8 to minor level to observe a number of areas including Code of Conduct adherence, Respect Initiative adherence, standards of facilities, conduct of spectators to name a few. To date a number of issues have been flagged and Longford GAA will be working with the clubs and relevant stakeholders to address the issues, find solutions and implement change so that our games can be a more enjoyable experience for all concerned. We appreciate all clubs cooperation and assistance throughout this process. Development Squads Our U13 Football Skills school had another coaching session on Saturday morning focusing on catching. They have 2 more sessions and then their 7 aside tournament which takes place in September. Our U14 Footballers travel to Louth on Saturday where they will play Louth, Westmeath and Offaly . The U15 Footballers have their blitz in Offaly as they take on Kildare and Carlow and the U16 Footballers are based in Dunganny, Meath, where they take on the hosts in a blitz.
