Elite Player Development Bursary Program

Last Saturday, the 10th, seen seven EPD players get presented with their bursary, which was an initiative under the 20/20 Vision For Longford Development Plan. The seven players were as follows: Enda Macken – Colmcille, Kevin Sorohan – Rathcline, Micheal Hughes – Killoe, Nigel Rabbitt – Abbeylara, Pete Hanley – Clonguish, Rían Brady – Mullinalaghta St. Columbas & Ronan Sweeney – Clonguish. This presentation night was a huge success and a very special occasion for these players and their loved ones as well as those people who have helped form and shape these young men. There were over 70 people in attendance on the night including our sponsors Bord na Mona, C & D and some sponsors who wished to remain anonymous as well as members of the County Executive. This is the first year of the scheme and no doubt this will have a very positive impact on these 7 lads and their families – all concerned should be very proud of themselves. Each bursary is worth €750.
