The program involves primary school coaching in four schools as well as one evening of indoor football in St. Mels College Sports Hall and another in Mercy College Ballymahon. This program will run for four weeks in total before we finish up for Christmas. This Friday we will hold blitzes 12 and 13 of our 2nd, 3rd and 4th class blitzes in Rathcline GAA and St Mels College. Friday will see the blitz involve Lanesboro and Fermoyle national schools in Rathcline with Gaelscoile and St. Michaels in St Mels. These blitzes will run until the 11th of December and that will be the end of what was a 10 week program as multiple blitzes took place each Fridays resulting in a total of 24 blitzes involving 1500+ kids. This program would not be possible without the assistance of 4 TY students from both Cnoc Mhuire & St. Mels as they complete a 10 day work placement with us. The full schedule has been sent to all schools and is 95% full with only one space for a school with small numbers in the north Longford area left. Our primary schools have also been advised of a nutrition and health promotion workshop that we are offering to schools after Christmas and schools have been invited to request this program if they are interested. Our program of 1st year Pella continues on Thursday’s. The final Post Primary outdoor date will take place on December 10th as we host our 11 a side finals day. December 9th will see us host a girls U14 blitz involving 5 longford schools. This blitz will be used to assist the schools in preparation for their competition after Christmas.
