Longford GAA Coaching & Games

To keep in touch with everything on a week-to-week basis you can keep an eye on the Coaching & Games section where fixtures and notes will be updated weekly.

20/20 Communication

As per contact from Damien all correspondence with clubs will now be conducted via email and through the Club Underage secretaries’ address ONLY. Every Underage Section has their own secretaries address ad goes along the lines as follows: (secretarybng.clubname.longford@gaa.ie). It is all clubs responsibility to ensure someone is monitoring this accounts and passing the information to the relevant people.

All Ireland Success

Thankfully games have a half time break because the turnaround we seen from the Longford Ladies in the second half of their All Ireland Final was incredible. Sometimes the game just does not go for you and the easy thing to say is its not your day but the girls last Sunday were not having that and after nothing going right for them in the first 30 minutes that came out all guns blazing in the second half and carried the game to Antrim but the biggest credit is that when they had them on the ropes Longford finished Antrim off and made sure there was no comeback, congrats to the Longford Ladies Association, all the management and especially the players on your great success.

Longford GAA Minor Board Golf Classic

Due to the All Ireland final going to a replay and it being fixed for October 1st the 21st annual Golf Classic will now take place on Saturday 22nd of October in County Longford Golf Club and will be kindly sponsored for the 2nd year my Seamus Butler MCC. Our dedicated website with all information is now live and can be accessed at http://www.longfordgaaminorgolfclassic.com/ The website contains all details on the various ways the Golf Classic can be supported. Funds generated from this event will all go towards underage development with our flagship initiative being the awarding of €750 bursaries to some of the members of our Elite Player Development group – further information to follow in the weeks ahead.

We also have an Events Calendar on our website at http://longfordgaa.ie/cg-calendar/ This calendar contains everything a Longford GAA person might need to know from our full fixtures program to Club workshops to County Board meetings to National fixtures to other large sporting events so as everyone can see what’s happening in the weeks and months ahead. Any changes made will be updated on the calendar in real time and will constantly evolve as different scenarios arise.
