Skills

It is very important to practice the skills of the game regularly and not just when you are at training. There are a lot of skills that can be practiced in your own time at home or school where all you need is a ball and a wall and you do not need to tog out.

See below some videos of skill practices which you can replicate yourself.

You should aim to do 15 minutes of this skill work at least  3 times per week all the time challenging yourself to improve from your previous attempts

Ways to challenge yourself on these practices include

  • Increase the distance for accuracy
  • Decrease the distance to work reactions
  • Increased reps in a set time
  • Use a smaller ball
  • Add your own variation to the task

Skills Challenge Competition

Every 3 weeks we will release a new Skills Challenge based on the practices above.

You are encouraged to watch the sample video below and attempt the challenge as outlined. Once you think you can complete the challenge you should get someone to record you setting up and attempting the challenge. When you have a recorded attempt that meets the criteria to apply enter your video as outlined below.

All entries that meet the criteria will be entered into a draw to win a €50 gift voucher for a local Sports Shop

  • Only 1 valid entry per person per challenge allowed
  • The same person can win more than 1 of the challenges
