20/20 Communication
As per contact from Damien all correspondence with clubs will now be conducted via email and through the club secretaries’ address ONLY. There are two addresses per club, one for the adult club (secretary.clubname.longford@gaa.ie) and one for the underage section (secretarybng.clubname.longford@gaa.ie). It is all clubs responsibility to ensure someone is monitoring these accounts and passing the information to the relevant people.
Development Squad Mentors
As part of “20/20 Vision For Longford”, Longford GAA are now looking to recruit mentors for our various Development Squads (U13, U14, U15 & U16) for the 2016 season. The role of mentor within our squad system is a very rewarding one and comes with great responsibility as you will help mould Longford’s footballers of the future. All our squad mentors are facilitated with up skilling courses and involved in a program of continuous learning. All mentors will receive Longford gear and will be supported by Coaching & Games regarding planning and logistics. If you are interested please make contact with Damien at damien.sheridan.gda.longford@gaa.ie or 087 912 6556
Award 1 Youth Course Review
Over the last 4 months we have conducted 5 Award 1 youth courses in 5 different clubs that was completed by 40 coaches. This program was trialed in Longford by Leinster GAA with the vision of rolling it our province wide in 2016. To this end a review was held on Monday the 7th with all the coaches from the 5 clubs so asses how the course was delivered, what should be change to make it better, etc. This review will be used to help shape the delivery of Award 1 coach education throughout Leinster in 2016.
Development Squads
The U13 skill school was postponed last weekend but will resume this week with the final coaching session before the 7 aside blitz which will take place on Monday 21st and 28th.
